One of the most exciting things about burgers is how diverse they can be. From the classic American fare to gussied up hunks of meat delicately positioned on a soft bun and drenched in truffle oil, burgers can be dressed up or dressed down for any occasion.
Here are some of Brooklyn’s best.
Uglyduckling – Cobble Hill
The Pimento Cheese Burger at Uglyduckling will make you a believer in the art of a grown up burger. A perfectly cooked burger sits atop a rustic bun dressed in chipotle aioli, crispy pancetta and pimento cheese. A bonus? Their side of fries is laced with sweet potato fries, adding a surprisingly delicious element to your plate.
River Styx – Greenpoint
Their take on the classic cheeseburger has a super fun element to it – its special sauce. And not just any special sauce… but it’s made from all of the usual toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, etc.) all combined and blended up in to a dream-like sauce that is ultra-addicting.
Juniper – Williamsburg
This small, cozy restaurant in Brooklyn is home to one of the juiciest burgers in the city: The Truffle Burger. If you’re in the mood for completely blowing your mind (and seriously feeling depressed about any other burger you’ve ever had), pay them a visit.
Sea Witch Tavern – South Slope
The Sea Witch Burger is a perfectly balanced blend of short rib, brisket and chuck, all forming together to produce an explosion of juicy flavor with every bite.
Fritzl’s Lunch Box – Bushwick
This blend of tender beef cheek and fatty chuck makes for a patty that is so out of this world that one burger probably won’t be enough. But the real prize here? Their secret sauce. It will absolutely blow your mind.
